I attended 5 different schools in 3 different states as a youngster ending my secondary education at O. P. Walker in New Orleans, LA.  I began my post-secondary education at LSU (GEAUX TIGERS), finishing at West Georgia College with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation.  I went on to earn degrees in Psychology and Education with an emphasis in Special Education at West Georgia.

I have had the privelege of teaching my entire career in Carroll County Schools.  I began at Central High School, moving first to Central Elementary then Sharp Creek Elementary.  I came to Providence Elementary when it opened and am honored to finish up my career with this amazing group of people that have become a true family to me.

As a child I was a voracious reader.  Two of my favorite characters were Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore.  While most everyone at PES knows me as Mrs. Milford, there are a few who call me Danette.  I answer to either name.  I am married to David, a retired educator who finished his career with the Carroll County School system as well. When not working we enjoy walking, working in the yard and on home improvement projects, reading good books, and spending time with friends while enjoying a great cup of coffee and/or glass of tea.
