Hi, my name is Mrs. Melissa Peek. This will be my seventh year teaching first grade at Providence Elementary. My classroom's theme is puppies, Peek's Pups. (Yes, dogs rule!)  In my classroom, we always try to do our best everyday. I strive to provide exciting and hands-on activities to meet each child's individual educational needs.

This will be my 19th year teaching :) I graduated from University of West Georgia in December of 2000 with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education.  In 2005, I received my Masters in Education with a focus in Reading and Literacy. I have been at Providence Elementary since the doors opened back in 2010.  Throughout my time at PES I have taught kindergarten and first grade. Before I transferred to PES, I taught kindergarten and first grade at Whitesburg Elementary.  Previous to Carroll County, I began my journey in education by teaching second grade and kindergarten in Paulding County.

My husband and I have been married for 17 years and we have one wonderful son. We have three four legged family members, one senior beagle dog and two diva cats.  We have lived in the Temple area for the last 17 years and we are so proud to be a part of this wonderful community.

I feel that teaching was my calling. There is just something about it when a child has that moment that they connect to the knowledge that is placed in front of them.  Getting them to that love and passion for learning is my goal.  I look forward to working with you and your child this 2019-2020 school year!
