Hi, my name is Mrs. Melissa Peek.  I am a first grade teacher here at Providence Elementary School. My classroom's theme is puppies, Peek's Pups. (Yes, dogs rule)  In my classroom, we always try to do our best everyday. I strive to provide exciting and hands-on activities to meet each child's individual educational needs.

My husband and I have been married for 14 years and we have one wonderful son. We have one old beagle dog and two diva cats.  We have lived in the Temple area for the last 14 years and we are so proud to be a part of this wonderful community.

I have been at Providence Elementary since the doors opened back in 2010.  Throughout my time at PES I have taught Kindergarten and 1st grade.  Before PES, I was part of another Carroll County school, but on the other side of the county, at Whitesburg Elementary. There, I also taught kindergarten and first grade for four years before I had the privilege to transfer and be a part of the new school, PES. Previous to Carroll County I began my journey in education by teaching in Paulding County at Union Elementary as a second grade teacher and then I was a part of opening a new school called Poole Elementary School as a kindergarten teacher. Wow, how time flies!

This will be my 16th year teaching :) I graduated from University of West Ga in December of 2000 with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. About five years later, I received my Masters in Education with a focus in Reading and Literacy.

I feel that teaching was my calling. There is just something about it when a child has that moment that they connect to the knowledge that is placed in front of them.  Getting them to that love and passion for learning is my goal.  I look forward to working with you and your child's love for their education.
