I graduated from Heflin High in 1976. I began my teaching career in 1980 after receiving a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. I earned my Master's Degree in ECE in 1985, also from JSU. I went back to JSU in 1995 and earned an add on to my Masters in Library Science.

I began teaching in 1980 with the Head Start progam for Cleburne County in Alabama. I taught 4 and 5 year olds as well as being the coordinator for the progam. Three years later I transfered to Pleasant Grove Elementary teaching Kindergarten. In 1995 I moved to the media center. I retired from Alabama in 2007. In the fall I began my career in Georgia. I taught 2nd grade for 3 years at Bowdon Elementary in Carroll County. In 2010 I transfered to the newest school in Carroll County, Providence Elementary, opening the new media center. I am presently in the same position.

I was raised in Heflin Alabama and still live in Heflin. I married in 1980 as well as starting my teaching career. In 1987, my daughter was born. She is a 3rd year dental student at UAB. I'm looking forward to being a grandmother in the future. Of course I love to read. I am an animal lover. I adopted a Boston Terrier rescue last year named Sally Mae. I have recently developed a new hobby, yard work.
