Bio

Hello PES families! My name is Haleigh Duncan. I have been teaching since 2012. Throughout my teaching career I have taught Pre-K, Special Education, 3rd grade, and Kindergarten. I was born and raised in Carroll County where I graduated from Villa Rice High School in 2008. Columbus State University is where I earned my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I later added on my Special Education certification in 2012. I am currently pursuing my Masters degree is Teacher Leadership from Columbus State University. I also hold a national STEM certification through NISE. In addition to teaching Kindergarten I serve at the After School Director here at PES.

Teaching Kindergarten is my passion and  I strive to always ensure I am doing my absolute best for my students in each and everything they do. I want them to know they are loved and cared for, and that they can do anything they set their mind to. Building lasting relationships with my students and their families is one of my favorite parts of the school year. Supporting my students outside of the classroom is just as important to me as the work we do in the classroom.

Outside of school I enjoy going to concerts, spending time with my friends and family, and listening to music. John Mayer is my favorite recording artist, and I am secretly hoping one day my students will be able to interrupt me because he is in our classroom. My parents, brother, sister, and dog, Maddie still live in Villa Rica.
