*** In between Yeager Middle and Factory Shoals Middle, I had the privilege of staying at home with my precious children. : )

I grew up in Douglas County and graduated from Alexander High School in 2003. From there, I attended the University of West Georgia, where I obtained my teaching degree in 2007. Immediately following graduation, I married my high school sweetheart, Micah, and I accepted my first teaching job at Yeager Middle School. Our family grew in 2009 when we had our first child, Clara. After my third year of teaching, I decided to stay at home with Clara. Our family quickly grew from three to five in 2011 when we welcomed our twins, Jonah and Camilla. I ended up staying at home for three school years, and I will forever be grateful for that time that I had with my three babies. In 2014, I decided that it was time for me to go back to work. I accepted a job at Factory Shoals Middle School. I was only there for one year, as I was offered a much closer job the very next year. I taught eighth grade ELA for the next four years at Mason Creek Middle School.

This will be my 2nd year of teaching fifth grade at Providence Elementary School, and I absolutely love it! We have a wonderful sense of community and take pride in showing our students that you can still have fun while learning and developing a strong work ethic. I am very passionate about teaching English Language Arts, and I love coming up with new ways to make learning about the subject engaging for my students.
