I grew up in Manchester, Georgia and am a product of the reason that I became a teacher.  My third grade teacher, Mrs. Gill, took a shy, introverted child and cared enough to take up a little extra time with me.  She pushed me to excel and wouldn't settle for anything less than my personal best.  Through pushing me to excel, she taught me how to persevere, how to believe in myself and how to use my voice in a positive and productive manner.  She went the extra mile for me!  I vowed that I would do for other children what she did for me. . . make a difference! That is why I'm an educator ~ My desire is to make a difference!

I have been married to my husband Sammy for 24 years, we have 3 amazing children.  Our daughter, Taylor, is 23 and is a pediatric ICU nurse.  Mason is 19 and is a sophomore at Truett McConnell University where he plays baseball.  Cade is an 18 year old freshman at UWG and he also works in our After School Program.  We love family time and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!
